Radiator Valve Selection Checklist

Valves are part of the visual design and the hydraulic system. Selection should therefore cover compatibility, control, orientation and installation space.

Confirm the interface

Check radiator thread, pipe size and pipe material. Identify whether straight, angled or corner-pattern bodies suit the pipe route and radiator connection.

Manual or thermostatic control

A thermostatic radiator valve can regulate room temperature when correctly positioned and commissioned. Avoid locations where curtains, covers or heat sources prevent the head from sensing representative room air.

Allow installation space

Consider handle or sensor clearance, wall distance, skirting, pipe centres and access for tightening. A visually compact arrangement can still be difficult to install if tolerances are ignored.

Coordinate the full set

• Valve body and control head
• Lockshield or return valve
• Tail pieces and adaptors
• Pipe covers and decorative sleeves
• Finish compatibility with the radiator

Final selection should be confirmed by the system designer or installer for the intended application.
